Journey to Conception: Safaa’s Triumph

Introduction:
Safaa, after four years of infertility, sought aid from Dr. Heba at Al-Salam Health Center. Two months under Dr. Heba’s treatment led to Safaa’s successful conception, marking a transformative journey from despair to hope.
Through Safaa’s Perspective:
Safaa articulated her journey, stating: “I was previously married and had two children, then I divorced my first husband. After that, I remarried four years ago, and I haven’t been able to conceive. I visited many doctors but gained no benefit. I went to Dr. Heba at this health center and continued seeing her for almost two months. Alhamdulillah, after two months, I became pregnant. It was truly due to the efforts of Dr. Heba. May God reward her and grant her great success. She was cooperative, supportive, and advised me, prescribing medications until I finally conceived.”
Diagnosis and Medical Intervention:
Dr. Heba, a gynecologist at Al-Salam Center, stated: “Safaa came to us with a complaint of infertility for four years. She had a history of two cesarean deliveries four and a half years ago. We conducted a uterine ultrasound after the end of her menstrual cycle, with oral coverage of preventive antibiotics (Azithromycin 500 mg) before the procedure. The ultrasound result showed a slight expansion in the fallopian tubes on the lateral side with mild permeability in the ovaries. The diagnosis was chronic pelvic inflammation. The patient was given good oral coverage of Cefixime 400mg daily, Metronidazole two tablets daily after meals, Folic Acid one tablet daily, and an anti-spasmodic when necessary. She revisited us after less than a month and was given Letromar one tablet in the morning and evening, starting from the second day of her cycle for five days. We monitored the dominant follicle by ultrasound with frequent visits, and intercourse was advised when the follicle reached 22mm. The patient returned to us in the ninth month after over a month’s absence of menstruation. A pregnancy test was conducted and came out positive. Ten days later, the pregnancy sac was observed inside the uterus by ultrasound. She continued with Folic Acid and revisited approximately a month later for a fetal heartbeat ultrasound measuring 8.5 weeks.
Path to Recovery:
Safaa is in good general health and returns periodically for pregnancy monitoring and reassurance. Safaa visits the gynecologist at the center regularly to ensure her health and the fetus’s health.
