Support Education and protection in NES‎

Project

The project’s overarching objective is to improve educational access, quality, and the overall well-being of school-aged children, with a particular focus on those who were previously out of school and those enrolled in formal education requiring academic support. This comprehensive initiative involves renovating buildings, establishing community centers, offering Non-Formal Education (NFE) and Accelerated Learning Programs (ALP) for out-of-school children, and providing remedial programs for students needing academic catch-up. Minor rehabilitation work is carried out in targeted schools, while 40 teachers and education personnel are capacitated to deliver NFE programs, ALP, and remedial education effectively. Recreational activities promote holistic development. In response to COVID-19, the project includes awareness-raising efforts, both about the virus and associated gender-based violence risks, and conducts awareness sessions within the targeted communities. Distance learning is provided during the pandemic, along with hygiene improvement initiatives, all aimed at fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment for school-aged children.
