الهدف من الوظيفة

The Education Supervisor for Out-of-School Children (OOSC) will be responsible for leading and managing a team of educators to provide quality learning opportunities for children who are not currently enrolled in formal schooling.  This role involves managing a team of teachers, developing educational daily plans, and liaising with community stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of education initiatives targeting OOSC.

سيكون المشرف التعليمي للأطفال خارج المدرسة (OOSC) مسؤولاً عن قيادة وإدارة فريق من المعلمين لتوفير فرص تعليمية جيدة للأطفال غير المسجلين حاليًا في التعليم الرسمي. يتضمن هذا الدور إدارة فريق من المعلمين، وتطوير الخطط التعليمية اليومية، والاتصال مع أصحاب المصلحة في المجتمع لضمان التنفيذ الفعال للمبادرات التعليمية التي تستهدف الأطفال خارج المدرسة.

المهام والمسؤوليات

• Lead day‑to‑day management of OOSC learning centers (AEP/NFE/catch‑up), ensuring classes run as scheduled with adequate materials.
• Ensure adherence to approved accelerated curricula, lesson plans, and minimum standards (class size, learner: teacher ratio, time on task).
• Coordinate learner identification, enrollment, and retention, prioritizing the most vulnerable (girls, children with disabilities, over‑age learners, children in street‑connected or displaced contexts).
• Ensure accessibility and inclusion (safe WASH access, seating, lighting, reasonable accommodation).
• Supervise facilitators and community educators; conduct regular classroom observations using standard tools.
• Provide structured feedback, mentoring, and continuous professional development on active learning, foundational literacy/numeracy, SEL/PSS in the classroom, and positive behavior management.
• Support development of contextualized lesson plans, low‑cost teaching aids, and differentiated instruction strategies.
• Oversee baseline, continuous, and endline learning assessments (e.g., EGRA/EGMA‑style tools, classroom‑based checks).
• Track attendance, progression, and transition rates; analyze data to identify learning gaps and propose targeted interventions (small groups, remedial blocks, home learning packs).
• Submit timely weekly/monthly reports, success stories, and input to donor reports; support MEAL in monitoring, PDMs, and accountability activities.
• Lead community mobilization with leaders, SBMC/PTA, and caregivers to identify OOSC, reduce barriers (costs, safety, social norms), and support regular attendance.
• Coordinate with formal schools for placement tests/bridging and support transition of graduates into appropriate grades (or link to ALP levels, skills training, or livelihoods pathways for older youth).
• Conduct caregiver sessions on study support at home, attendance, and child safety (including safe routes to learning spaces).
• Ensure safe, inclusive learning spaces aligned with Child Safeguarding, PSEA, and Do No Harm principles.
• Integrate basic SEL/PSS strategies in classrooms; identify learners in distress and refer through established protection/CP pathways.
• Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of learner data.
• Coordinate with Education and Protection teams, School Support/Head Teachers, and local authorities.
• Ensure compliance with national/State SUBEB/UBEC guidance and donor standards, support procurement forecasts for learning materials and center supplies.
• Participate in sector/working group meetings as delegated.

متطلبات الوظيفة

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field.

Master’s degree in Education or a related field is an advantage.

Training in Education in Emergencies (EiE), Child Protection, Inclusive Education, or Project Management is desirable.

Experience | الخبرة

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in education programs, preferably with NGOs or humanitarian organizations.

Experience in supervising education staff and managing education activities.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement with schools, communities, and authorities.
• Strong reporting, organization, and problem‑solving; proficiency with basic MS Office/Excel or Kobo/ODK.

Experience working with vulnerable children, adolescents, and children with disabilities is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of INEE standards, safeguarding, and PSEA principles.
